Dance Competitions

Dance competitions have exploded across the world as well as across television. Popular with all ages, this is a sport for the entire family. Many people do see it as a competition, but they rarely think of it as a sport. Sports have rules, officials and require active athletic participation. This is why dancing has now become a sport.

Many competitions are held as a series of meets. Some begin with online auditions and proceed through regional competitions. At the end, there is a final competition for the regional winners to compete against each other for the grand prize. There are judges that decide how well the competitors have performed and score them. Even the competition waltzes require competitors to have athletic abilities with lifts and fast footwork. Modern dancing competitions have come a long way and continue to thrive in the world of sports.
